Ride Across the Peloponnese

Two young Englishmen, some hired horses, and the whole of the Peloponnese. Macmillan rides through Greece in the 1870s, from Olympia to Mycenae and Sparta, camping where he can and arguing with muleteers, and the point of the whole thing is the ground itself: standing where the histories happened with the histories still fresh in his head.
